Welcome

Any librarian will tell you the most common question they're asked is "Do you know a good book?" Of course, there are limitlless "good books;" it's finding them that can be difficult.

The Main Idea

This web site is an attempt to bring together some of the resources the Internet has to offer to help you find your next "good book."

We've divided the resources into broad categories: awards, lists, reviews, reader's advisory etc. Of course, there will be considerable overlap from one category to another. For example, "Celebrating Writers" is bound to have some reviews, suggestions etc.

Certainly AmazonAnd we always welcome your suggestions for new sites you've discovered.
Send them to suggestions@knowagoodbook.com.

What's New

Blogs continue to proliferate across the Web so it's no surprise that websites devoted to literature and, in particular, book reviews, are sprouting up everywhere. Often run by "passionate amateurs," blogs are pickling up the slack as more newspapers cut back on their reviews section.

And, of course, if you don't care for what's offered here, you can always start your own...

A great new find is Blogging For A Good Book featuring "a suggestion a day from the Williamsburg Regional Library."

Local book clubs are a fast-growing phenomenon and groups are always looking for new material to read and discuss.. If you are a member of a book club, either through your local library or a neighborhood group, please consider sharing your experiences.

What books have your group enjoyed? Are there any books which have been less successful?
